چکیده

This paper reviews the shape distortions in a polymer composite, its sources, characterization techniques, and remedies. The distortion may include warpage, spring-in, or change enclosed diameter for flat, angled, circular parts. Residual stresses are considered to be major source of (dimensional instability) laminated composites. These result difference thermal expansion behavior different plies between matrix reinforcement. Additionally, fiber buckling, transversal cracking, delamination also produced affecting mechanical properties like tensile, flexural, compression. residual determined through techniques layer removal symmetrical laminates, first ply failure, x-ray diffraction. common remedies reported literature nanoparticle addition variable thickness at base flanges.

Shape Characterization via Boundary Distortion

In this paper, we derive new shape descriptors based on a directional characterization. The main idea is to study the behavior of the shape neighborhood under family of transformations. We obtain a description invariant with respect to rotation, reflection, translation and scaling. A well-defined metric is then proposed on the associated feature space. We show the continuity of this metric. Som...

Characterization of Fe3O4/rGO Composites from Natural Sources: Application for Dyes Color Degradation in Aqueous Solution

The magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticle and graphene oxide (GO) have  become interesting materials due to their advanced applications. In this work, we investigated the fabrication of Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) from iron sands and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) NPs from natural graphite. The core-shell fabrication of the Fe3O4/rGO was co...

Preparation and Characterization of Shape Memory Elastomeric Composites

Shape memory polymers (SMPs) are a class of smart poly-meric materials that have the ability to " memorize " a permanent shape, be manipulated to retain or " fix " a temporary shape, and later recover to its original (permanent) shape upon a stimulus such as heat, electricity, or irradiation. 1-3 A large number of SMPs have been developed and utilized for actua-tors, deployable medical devices,...

Arsenic Contamination in Hizla, Bangladesh: Sources, Effects and Remedies

Various natural (high arsenic bearing strata and pyrite oxidation) and anthropogenic (agricultural, coal mining, metal smelting, and refining industry) sources are involved in arsenic pollution of water. Water, soil, and biological samples (vegetables, fish, and meat) were collected from potentially arsenic affected area Hizla, Bangladesh and analyzed to find the source of arsenic contamination...

Shape-Memory Polymer Composites

The development of shape-memory polymer composites (SMPCs) enables high recovery stress levels as well as novel functions such as electrical conductivity, magnetism, and biofunctionality. In this review chapter the substantial enhancement in mechanical properties of shape-memory polymers (SMPs) by incorporating small amounts of stiff fillers will be highlighted exemplarily for clay and polyhedr...
